Extract from Interactional Creation of Health

Given that the word health is derived from the Old English words hal or hale meaning wholeness or whole, I suggest that the first important task for any health creation framework is to develop a model of whole as well as unified lived experience with health. To be whole, such a model must include all the different entities and mechanisms forming individual lived experiences with health. To be unified, it must support us to explore how these elements interact and function to originate, emerge, diverge and variously repeat lived experiences over time, both individually and collectively.

In the above figure, I depict my base model of whole unified lived experience formation consisting of four interactional domains. Each domain is comprised of distinct types or bodies of social, material, semiotic, bodily, cognitive and other entities whose interaction (between and within the domains) forms actual lived experience. In the dynamic moving version of the model available in Umio videos online, the light blue “INTERACTIONS” ring rotates around the centre to indicate ongoing experience formation via interactions within and between the variety of bodies of entities in all four domains.

Over the seven foundations, I shall build up and elaborate the model into a complete ontology of lived experience formation. First, I briefly introduce each of the four interactional domains in the model.
